Oh yes, the memories...Staying up late with friends, stressing out, laughing, the excitement of playing those Nintendo games...now those days are some what gone, better yet...replaced with hi-tech gaming consoles. Gone are the days of A and B buttons, and that simple cross pad, replaced with X Y Z, circle, square, triangle and god knows what else! Well, time to stop blabbing about the good ol days. Saturday night I ended up at a birthday party in Denton,TX, of all places. The party was chill, bunch of young kids hanging out, drinking, there was a bonfire in the backyard, you know...chill, some kids were playing wii, others were remembering those good ol nintendo game days when this fellow, no idea his name, started playing themes from those classics! On acoustic! It was great...his "sidekick" on the right...no idea what he was doing...I believe he was singing or adding some verbal direction of where the song was going within the game...or something? But it all made for some good fun, laughs and great memories.
Here's a pic just for the sake of keeping this pinche güey blog updated. I took it last year around July while covering a lame event outside of City Hall in Farmers Branch. After thinking about the photo a bit more, this shadow reminds me of how a lot of undocumented Latino immigrants might feel here in the U.S., as if they have this shadow looking over them, scared to be caught and deported. No wonder a lot of them are terrified of having their photograph taken for a newspaper.
Okay, im pissed off right now...weird part..it's numbing. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I just spent about 30 minutes writing a damn "blog" about the photo below. I know, you might ask, 30 minutes on a blog? Well that's what happens when you mix a crap writer and a analist. Is that a word? I think I saw it on urbandictionary. Let me look it up. --------------------------------------- those lines are me looking it up. ------------------------------------------- okay, dumb definition. Any how, I'm gonna re type what I said in the first blog in as little words as possible about the picture below, yet try to make sense...eeeeeeeshh, here I go.Old pic. summer '08.
something that has not be seen much this year here in Dallas. where are you rain? we miss you...by this time last year Dallas had seen 32.08 inches, this year we have 15.54 inches. last year's total rainfall was 50.05! come on clouds, drop us some freaking rain here! the most rain Dallas has ever had was 53.54 inches back in 1991.
this was shot in new mexico on the way towards ruidoso from el paso.
there's no other sunset like el paso's. I know it's probably not the best location for sunset photo, but sometimes the spontaneous photos are the best. i made it after having dinner with my family near i-10, sorta just shot it while walking. haha.
